Shock Doctor is teaming with new Cleveland Brown Odell Beckham Jr. to launch the new Interchange Lip Guard, which gives athletes the ability to quickly and easily change out of their shields and offers a variety of looks.

Garmont Intl. has expanded its global operations and marketing teams over the last six months. Following the appointment of Michele Battocchio as COO last fall, the company hired Davide Calcagnatto as global supply chain manager and Mauro Baldini as global marketing and communications manager. Additionally, the Italian company has added new in-country management to its Vietnam manufacturing plant.

Peloton’s formal filing for an IPO is on the horizon. Last week, the company confirmed it had filed a confidential draft registration for the initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission. No official word yet on when the IPO will be initiated, but it will occur after the SEC completes its review process. In a separate development, the seven-year old New York company has learned that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will review three Peloton patents for a second time due to allegations of infringement by rival Flywheel Sports.

Puma North America will reportedly spend upwards of $40 million to open a new North American distribution center in Whitestown, IN. Equipment installation will begin later this summer followed by the hiring of 90 people, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal. Puma will receive a four-year personal property tax abatement from the local county, starting at 100 percent in year one and lowering 25 percent annually, according to the newspaper.

Retail Imports, after hitting a record million 21.8 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in 2018, are projected to rise 3 percent in H1/19 to 10.6 million TEU. The National Retail Federation reports that retailers are trying to stay ahead of potentially higher tariffs by stocking up on inventory.
