Helen of Troy Promotes Mike Wallenfels; Cherokee Names Chairman

Mike Wallenfels, VP of worldwide sales for Hydro Flask, is promoted by the brand’s parent company, Helen of Troy Ltd. In his newly created position of SVP of global sales, he adds responsibility for the OXO housewares brand. Wallenfels will oversee Hydro Flask and OXO U.S. and international sales teams from HELE’s Bend, OR Housewares Division office, including a newly created role of VP of North American sales for Hydro Flask.

Elsewhere, Cherokee Global Brands, which is slated to report quarterly results this week, has appointed company director Evan Hengel as Chairman. The Sherman Oaks, CA company, which has numerous brands in its portfolio including Sideout, Hi-Tec and Tony Hawk Signature Apparel, manages license agreements with retailers and manufacturers in 80 countries and has brand distribution in 20,000+ retail locations and multiple ecommerce platforms.

At Merrell last week, the Wolverine Worldwide brand launched its “One Day. One World, One Trail” campaign that documents hiking excursions across 17 countries from 23 photographers on April 27. Through the campaign, Merrell is aiming to showcase and celebrate diversity in the outdoors.
