Obituary
OOFOS’ Duncan Finigan

The footwear industry veteran and forever optimist lost her four-year battle with breast cancer on May 26. She was 59. The wife, mother of four sons (Alec, Cavan, Duncan and Will) and the first employee at the Braintree, MA-based company worked tirelessly during her OOFOS tenure to raise money for breast cancer research, creating the firm’s Project Pink program. Four days before her death, the company completed a short Project Pink video to highlight some of her efforts (See the video below in this week’s Tubes of the Week).

In an email message to OOFOS customers last week, the company remembered its champion of the cause with: “If it were up to Duncan, every single person on the planet would know about Project Pink because she understood how many people are touched by breast cancer. She started this fight knowing the only thing holding researchers back from finding a cure was funding, and in her honor, we will not stop until that’s done. Her legacy will live on through Project Pink and through the lives of every person she touched-which is more than we can count.”

Donations may be made to Duncan’s Pan Mass Challenge Fund for the benefit of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02493 (https://donate.pmc.org/DF0219).
