The Buzz: Carhartt, Helly Hansen, National Sporting Goods Association

Helly Hansen revenues were up 16.5 percent to C$211.7 million ($160.0 mm) in Q3 for parent Canadian Tire. Also, company’s Sport Chek banner generated a 3.8 percent increase in revenues to C$543.3 million ($410.7 mm) and comp increase of 4.6 percent.

PrimaLoft introduces PrimaLoft P.U.R.E.(Produced Using Reduced Emissions), a proprietary manufacturing technique that reduces carbon emissions by as much as 48 percent. The initial insulation product being produced with P.U.R.E. manufacturing technology, four years in development, uses 100-percent post-consumer recycled material and has all the insulating and performance benefits of existing PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation.

Vista Outdoor says it continues to make progress with its accelerated transformation plan. Changes have included paying down debt by $600 million since FY17 and the development of new ecommerce sites for the company’s brands. VSTO’s Action Sports segment, which has hired Chris Sword to lead the Bell and Giro brands business unit, reported a 1 percent year-over-year decline in Q2/20 revenues to $84.0 million. Meanwhile, the Outdoor Recreation segment consisting of Camelbak and Camp Chef, had an 18 percent decline in year-over-year revenues to $44.4 million in Q2/20.
