Apparel shipments into the U.S. grew nearly 24 percent in July from June and 9 percent from July 2018 as retailers accelerated orders ahead scheduled tariff hikes, according to data from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce’s Officer of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA). Year-over-year apparel shipments from China climbed 12.45 percent as imports from Vietnam (+11.7 percent) and El Salvador (+14.6 percent) also rose. Meanwhile, apparel imports from Bangladesh (-10.3 percent), Indonesia (-12.1 percent) and Mexico (-6.9 percent) declined in July.
Buffalo Groupe, a golf-focused marketing platform agency formed in Feb. 2019 after its first company was spun-off from Billy Casper Golf, makes its third acquisition in a deal for Charlotte, NC-based 54 Brands. Besides 54 Brands, the company owns Rawle Murdy.
